Michele Bua-Alexander is a proud native Houstonian whose career in the food service industry began when she was a young girl. Growing up Italian meant that every family event was spent mostly in their kitchen. Cooking, baking, and eating were bonding times for the Bua’s.
At the age of 12, Michele worked alongside her mom and dad, Michael and Lena Bua, at Bua’s Grocery Store. While her dad was busy in the butcher department and her mom was running the store, Michele quickly realized her passion was working in the kitchen preparing appetizing meals.
These experiences blossomed into owning and managing Uncle Mike’s Italian Bakery, which grew into an extensive corporate catering business, a commissary for Lockheed at NASA, and a successful line of pre-packaged gourmet foods.
Michele gained corporate experience and event planning skills by working as Director of Catering at Sugar Creek Country Club and Aztec Party and Tents. This allowed her to orchestrate exclusive parties and events, including dinners for 800+ and grand openings for businesses.
Michele then ventured into her next challenge as owner/operator of Events and More of Houston, a full-service event planning and catering business. Events and More of Houston is the result of many years in the hospitality industry. During this time, Michele realized another calling…motherhood! Michele adores being a mother to her two beautiful children, Andie Marie and Austin James.
